Humility

This week it has been so great to meet Tom Bloomer the National Provost of the University of the Nations. I had the opportunity to interview him for the first time. Looking at how YWAM, and the University of the Nations, is so decentralised in a way that you meet with people in authority and they are so down to earth in friendly – not compared to other organisations that you can’t even get closer to their leaders in any way. Humility I see is one among many ways YWAM is treading new ground that will move it to greater heights. 

New plan

As I heard about my moving to join the African Communications Team in South Africa – YWAM AfriCom. I prayed and planned to move. I knew my journey was going to be a journey of faith, moving to a country I have never been before and without knowing what awaited me. I moved with no money to take care of myself but God, whose calling I follow, always makes at least some provision ahead of time for his people. I am still trusting God for my rent to be paid each month; the Lord is still faithful. Last year in December was a time for me to seek Gods face through prayer and fasting for more vision and strength on how I can move ahead without seeing my physical needs as a barrier. I am now editing the English version of the Angola Video which will complete this project. I will then be picking up on planning a trip in May to Marromeu in Mozambique, hopefully to go and shoot a documentary alongside a promotional video for the YWAM base there.

What I've Done

I just completed the Angola video which is a documentary of about 50 minutes that covers all the locations of YWAM in Angola, it is a Portuguese version; I will be doing the English version before the end of this year.

There is one thing that stood out for me in doing this project, and that is the ability to see and hear what God is doing among this people group and how amazing He is proving himself as Almighty in their situations.

For me as Video Editor I see myself as privileged to be a partaker in what God is doing in my own way by putting together all the bits and pieces into a meaningful visual story for the world to see and know what God is doing in YWAM Angola.

About Me

I am a young man with the passion of seeing God's word reaching every nook and cranny of Africa. In doing this I had to go and train in the area that I needed to be effective in my calling. My first move was to take a step towards knowing God and to making Him known through doing a discipleship training school (DTS) with Youth With A Mission in Nigeria. I then did a School of Video Production with Media Village, University of the Nations in Nigeria,there after I did a School of Biblical Studies (SBS) which has equipped me with the tools needed for this calling. My calling is to spring forth change in the lives of individuals, which, in turn will change communities and, hopefully, nations. I am working at this calling through AfriCom - YWAM's communication team for Africa, based in South Africa.

Who invented Bitcoin?

Bitcoin’s inventor, Satoshi Nakamoto, outlined what Bitcoin is in the original 2009 Bitcoin whitepaper – a document which created the roadmap and social contract for Bitcoin. To date, this is still the most simple and accurate description of what Bitcoin is. Bitcoin which is also known as ‘digital cash’, the first ‘cryptocurrency’, an international payment network, and ‘the internet of money’ – whatever you want to call it – Bitcoin is a revolution that is changing the way people think about and use money. On August 1, 2017, Bitcoin split when there was a permanent fork divergence in the blockchain, thereby creating two blockchains: Bitcoin Core (BTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH). Bitcoin Cash is the upgraded newer version of Bitcoin which preserves the fast, decentralized, inexpensive qualities of Bitcoin network transactions.

To further clarify: Bitcoin Core (BTC) is less usable as money due to extremely high high fees and delayed transaction times creating an unstable and unreliable deprecated network. The Core developer team has also expressed an interest in keeping these fees high since they view BTC as a “store-of-value” and not something to be transacted on a daily basis. In contrast, Bitcoin Cash’s transaction fees cost pennies and payments can be validated even with zero confirmations. These facts make BCH the ideal cryptocurrency for sending and receiving money anywhere in the world.)
